Total Solar Eclipse

Some of you might have been lucky enough to watch the live stream of the total solar eclipse on December 14th, 2020, which was visible from South America. But what is a total solar eclipse?

A solar eclipse is a phenomena that occurs when the moon passes directly between the Earth and the Sun. They can be 'partial', only blocking part of the sunlight, or 'total', causing the sky to become dark if it occurs during the day! Check out NASA's image of the 2017 total solar eclipse.

If you didn't quite catch that one, don't worry. The next one is on 10th June 2021, where you can livestream it from this website: https://www.timeanddate.com/eclipse/solar/2021-june-10

Happy eclipsing!
