Events

Have you ever wanted to look through a telescope at the night sky?

Come to one of our informal 'star parties', in which you can make use of our high-end, easy to use telescopes!

We also host regular talks from top astronomers and occasional visits to observatories and museums. Last year we hosted visits to astronomy and space related exhibitions as well as the Royal Observatory in Greenwich!

Keep an eye out for further events!

Previous Events this year...

Space Mining

28th November 2020

Rhea and Casey

Surely space could offer more to us than providing spectacular night views? What are some of the resources that we could find on our Moon, on Mars, and on asteroids – they all look deserted and resourceless? How are we going to extract the resources?

Join our Space Mining Workshop on 29th November, held by Rhea and Casey from our committee, on Teams to find out! Fun quizzes and interesting open discussions await you...

Our Bodies in Space

28th December 2020

Jasmine

Have you ever wondered how astronauts go to the toilet in space? How blood moves around the body in microgravity? Can you do CPR on the ISS?

Come along to our workshop to learn about the changes that our bodies undergo during spaceflight, and a medical perspective of the future of commercial spaceflight!

Mission Planning

30th January 2020

Bevis

Many of you have heard of different space missions, either with space shuttles or the ones done by probes. Though how do the missions actually work? And how can the spacecrafts switch between orbits?

Come join us at the Mission Planning Workshop to find out more.
